Managing Comments on Fansted

When you publish a video on Fansted, a comment section appears below it. Only you and your active subscribers can see, comment, and engage.

Comment States
Comments have two public states: visible and hidden.
- Visible comments appear to everyone.
- Hidden comments remain stored but do not show publicly.
Creators cannot delete comments written by other users, but they can hide them. If a comment does not belong in the discussion, you can hide it.
Pinning Comments
Use pinning to control what new viewers see first. Pin comments that clarify the content, answer common questions, or raise points that improve understanding.
We advise that you do not pin praise, inside jokes, or casual reactions. Pinning is not a reward system. It is a way to surface the most useful information.
Moderation
Moderation is about keeping the discussion readable and on-topic. Hide spam, promotional links, personal attacks, and comments that derail the conversation.
Reply to comments selectively. Focus on questions that block understanding or affect many viewers. Early replies matter more than late ones. Responding shortly after publishing sets the tone and encourages thoughtful participation.
Key points to remember:
- Pin: Highlight comments that improve understanding, answer frequent questions, or clarify content.
- Hide: Remove spam, off-topic, or harmful comments. Do not hide criticism.
- Reply: Prioritize questions that affect comprehension or many viewers; early replies set the tone.
- Consistency: Your actions teach your audience how to behave. Pin, reply, and hide deliberately.
Use comments to improve clarity and reinforce learning. Keep what helps future viewers visible. Hide what reduces focus or quality. That is the purpose of the commenting system.
